Word of The Day: Comfort My People

Word of The Day: Comfort My People

God ‘s people living in Jerusalem had experienced warfare and suffered to the point where they slipped into sin as a result. Rather than beating them with the scriptures, God sends words of comfort through His prophet to let them know that their warfare had come to an end. Hard times have a clock that ticks before it is over. Notice God mentions the words comfort twice? That’s because each word represented two different things. The first “comfort” was for their warfare The second “comfort” was for their sins. God had comforted them by forgiving them of their past sins forever! As a result they received double for their trouble!

Let’s take a look at what God says through the prophet Isaiah:

“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God.
“Speak comfort to Jerusalem (God’s People including Us!),  and cry out to her,
That her warfare is ended, That her iniquity is pardoned;
For she has received from the Lord’s hand Double for all her sins.”

Isaiah 40:1-2 NKJV

For God’s people, their  economic, financial, physical, and spiritual warfare will on be over!

Let’s Pray:”Father God in Heaven, who dwells between the Seraphims, (Is. 6:2) I thank you for allowing Your people to experience suffering because the scripture says you suffered for our sins (Is. 53:5) therefore we suffer and experience warfare for Your namesake! Thank You Lord for comforting us and releasing us from what we are going through in order to take us where we are going to! I Jesus Christ name I pray amen.
