End Time Questions & Answers

What Is the End Time?

Referred to as the latter years, latter days, and the last days in both the Old and New Testaments, the End Time is a period of years characterized by momentous, world-wide troublesome times and hardships, political and economic turbulence, natural disasters, wars and famines.

These occurrences will reach a pivotal point with the removal of the Lord’s people, known in Christendom as the ‘Rapture.’ This phenomenon will usher in the dreadful 7-year Tribulation Period marked by the emergence of One World Government; a global political leader; a global religious leader; and God’s wrath upon the unrepentant by which millions will die. The Tribulation Period will conclude with the Battle of Armageddon and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Where is the End Time in the Bible?

In the book of Daniel 2:28, the young prophet begins to reveal a dream King Nebuchadnezzar had concerning the Gentile kingdoms/nations who will rule the earth from their time to the end of time as we know it. Let’s read: “But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to the king Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days (end time).”

In Ezekiel 38:8, the Lord is speaking through the prophet to Gog and Magog (the leader of modern-day Russia) about the country’s military invasion of Israel during the End Time. Please read, “After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years (end time) thou shalt come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them?”

Acts 2:17 prophetically records the wondrous work of the Holy Spirit during the End Time: “And it shall come to pass in the last days (end time), saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:”

In his second letter to Timothy, Paul the Apostle writes, “This know also, that in the last days (end time) perilous times shall come.” Please see II Timothy 3:1.

What is the Rapture?

Identified in the Bible as ‘The Resurrection,’ the Rapture is the event in which the Lord Jesus Christ will appear in the air and call for His people. Those who are dead (but committed their hearts and lives to Christ while living by receiving the infilling of the Holy Spirit) will miraculously rise from their graves first.

Those of us who are alive and have been inwardly filled with the Holy Spirit will hear the Lord’s call. In an instant, we also will miraculously be carried away to Heaven with Him for seven years (the duration of the Tribulation Period), escaping the Lord’s wrath upon the unrepentant in the earth.

The Rapture is an emergency evacuation of the Lord’s people.

Where is the Rapture in the Bible?

New Testament book I Thessalonians 4:13-17 reads: “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. (verse 14) For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again (resurrection), even so them also which sleep (dead) in Jesus will God bring with him.” The Lord will resurrect the dead in Christ.

Verse 16: “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (resurrection) (vs17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up (resurrection) together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”

John 11:25 records, “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”

  • Please know: Without the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ, there can be no rapture of Christ followers, dead or alive. Likewise, there is no rapture without the resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ.

Paul the Apostle teaches in I Corinthians 15:13, “But if there be no resurrection of the dead, then is Christ not risen. (vs 20) But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits (first to have risen from the dead) of them that slept.”

In I Corinthians 15:52, Paul states, “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.”

The Lord illustrates the Rapture in Matthew 24:40-41: “Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. (vs41) Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.”

Revelation 4:1b reads, “the first voice which I (John the Apostle) heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither” (here). This is a depiction of the Rapture.

When will the Rapture take place?

The Rapture will take place before the Tribulation Period begins. Let’s affirm this truth: Revelation 3:10 records, “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”

Please read this same text from the Complete Jewish Bible (CJB): “Because you did obey my message about persevering, I will keep you from the time of trial coming upon the whole world to put the people living on earth to the test.”

Paul writes in I Thessalonians 5:9, “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.”

What is the Tribulation Period?

Identified in the Bible as “the hour of temptation” and the “time of Jacob’s trouble,’’ the Tribulation Period consists of a seven-year period of time encompassing unfathomable distress and catastrophe stamped by the Lord’s wrath upon the unrepentant. It is a time of sorrow that the earth and its inhabitants have never known before.

Where is the Tribulation Period in the Bible?

In addition to the aforementioned Scriptures, the Tribulation Period is referenced in Jeremiah 30:7, “Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s (Israel) trouble, but he shall be saved out of it.

The seven-year time frame is recorded in Daniel 9:27: “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week.”

  • One week is the Hebrew equivalent to seven years.
  • The phrase “one week” derives from the Hebrew word Shabua, which is defined in Strong’s Concordance as sevened, a period of seven years.

Matthew 24:21 records Jesus’ words to his disciples: “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.”

Jesus describes the Tribulation Period in Matthew 24 and Luke 21:7-36.

Revelation Chapters 6 through 18 records the events of the Tribulation Period.

When Will the Tribulation Period begin?

The signing and affirmation of the Middle East Peace Agreement between Israel and the Palestinians will mark the beginning of the Tribulation Period.

Daniel 9:27 foretells, “And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

As noted above, “one week” is the Hebrew equivalent to seven years.

  • The covenant is the Middle East peace agreement between Israel and the Palestinians by which East Jerusalem (called the West Bank where ancient Judea, Samaria, and the remains of Solomon’s Temple are located) will be given to the Palestinians as their capital. This peace agreement is politically referred to as the “Two-State Solution.”
  • The World Leader or Antichrist will affirm and sanction the peace agreement for seven years – the duration of the Tribulation Period.
  • After 3 1⁄2 years he will break the agreement by stopping the daily sacrifices, as well as the the grain offerings, giving meaning to “in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease.
  • The Antichrist will begin to persecute the Jews in Israel and destroy the land of ancient Judea and Samaria, which yields basic understanding to “the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

In Isaiah 28:15, the Middle East Peace Agreement is called the ‘contract of death and hell.’ Please read: “Because ye (Israel) have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.”

Isaiah 28:18a shows us that “the covenant” will indeed be broken: “And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; b) when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.”

Isaiah 28:18b and the below verse refers to persecution from the Antichrist against Israel.

Verse 19 “From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.”

What happens to the Jews after the peace agreement is broken?

They will flee to the wilderness where God will supernaturally take care of them, as Revelation Chapter 12:6 metaphorically tells the story:

Verse 14 reiterates the same using time reference, a time, and times, and half a time.

“And to the woman Israel) were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent (Satan operating through the Antichrist).” Bible Scholars believe this wilderness location is Petra, Jordan. Can you be saved during the Tribulation?

Yes. In Revelation Chapter 6:9-11 and Chapter 20:4, the Bible tells us those who receive Christ or returned to Christ (re-committed their hearts to God) during the Tribulation are killed. They did not accept the mark of the best nor bow to his image. These individuals are given white robes and told to rest until the remaining of those to be killed for confessing Jesus Christ are received into heaven.

Verse 11 “And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellow servants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.”

Revelation 14:6 depicts the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every nation. People are going to preach during the Tribulation! Souls are going to be saved by receiving Christ as Savior through the Power of the Holy Spirit!

Please read: “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people.”

Who Is the Antichrist?

The Antichrist is the World Political Leader who will exercise complete authority over the One World Government (the New World Order) during the 7-year Tribulation. This man is called Antichrist because he will defy everything that is representative of the Lord Jesus Christ and epitomize incomprehensible evil in his brutal, inhuman dictatorship.

Where Is the Antichrist in the Bible?

The Antichrist is identified in the Bible as the Man of Sin, Son of Perdition, and the beast.

Please follow as Paul the Apostle teaches in II Thessalonians 2: 3-4: “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come (the Day of the Lord), except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.”

Verse 4 “Who (Antichrist) opposeth and exalteth himself above all this is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.”

Revelation 13:1 reads, “And I (John) stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”

Revelation symbolizes the Antichrist as a beast. This reference depicts two things:

  • His ferocious, malevolent, and godless rule of the One World government system.
  • Satan’s complete possession of his physical body.

Revelation 13:4a reads, “And they worshipped the dragon (Satan) which gave power unto the beast (the Antichrist).”

  • Antichrist’s power comes from Satan.

Revelation 13:6-7 “And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.”

  • He will speak against and demonstrate extreme contempt for God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Verse 7 “And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.”

  • This text portrays his global authority and his hatred for Israel and Christ believers.

What is the One World Government/New World Order?

The One World Government/New World Order is a satanic, fascists system by which all governments, economies, military forces, religions, and societies worldwide will combine or unify under the global leadership of Antichrist.

Please understand: The current governments, economies, and societal norms must collapse before the New World Order fully emerges or comes into view.

Please see articles: Global Shutdown Global Stocks Plummet

Please be aware: Globalization; Global Governance; the Global Economy; the International Community; and Citizen(s) of the World are mainstream terms and phrases which refer to One World Government/New World Order. Do no be deceived!

Where is the One World Government in the Bible?

Let’s go back to Revelation 13:1 – “And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.”

Previously, we established that the beast is the Antichrist who will rule the World Government system during the Tribulation Period.

The seven heads, however, represent seven gentile governments or kingdoms that have historically ruled the known world and more importantly, subjugated the Lord’s people, Israel. These nations are Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece, Rome, and Anglo-America.

  • All seven of these governments or kingdoms that have dominated Israel will be personified and culminated through the nefarious rule of Antichrist and the system over which he dictates.

Here is the One World Government in Scripture: The ten horns of Revelation Chapter 13 are 10 kings or presidents that will rule over 10 regions of the world.

  • In other words, the world will have been divided into 10 geo-political regions, each having its own president/leader. The 10 crowns represent their governmental authority subordinate to the absolute dominance of Antichrist.

Has this prophecy come to past? It is in the making.

Unbeknown to most, the Club of Rome and the United Nations have already divided the world into 10 geo-political regions, which they refer to as the “Ten Kingdoms.” The purpose of these 10 regions is to make the world “more manageable” during the full execution of the One World Government system.

  • Founded in 1968, The Club of Rome is an international “think tank” comprised of scientists, heads of states, military officials, economists, and other affluent men and women whose mission was to regionalize the world and design the fate of humankind.
  • The UN is the international legal body of the One World Government system who devises and enacts global laws that will be enacted during the 7-year Tribulation Period.

The Antichrist will sit as Chairman of the UN Security Council, the supreme commander of this global legislative body.

Who is the false prophet?

He is the spurious religious, political figure who will usher in a One World Religion and command that the Antichrist be worshiped. He will also demand the people to take the “mark of the beast.” The false prophet is ‘the second beast.’

Where is the false prophet in the Bible?

Revelation 13:11 says, “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.”

  • The Bible calls the false prophet a beast, denoting his reprehensible nature. He appears to be humble and gentle like a lamb, but inwardly he is a deceiving, satanic fraud.

Verse 12 “And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast (the Antichrist).”

  • The false prophet is a cohort of the Antichrist and executes the same global command. He causes the people to worship the Antichrist.  Verse 13 “And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast.”
  • The false prophet performs miracles using satanic power.

Verse 16 “And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: (verse 17) And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

  • He mandates that all the people on earth to take the “mark of the beast.”

What is the “mark of the beast?”

The mark of the beast has everything to do with global surveillance and the economic system of this world. The mark will come in the form of a human implantable microchip embedded with a 666 digital code that will not become mandatory by the False Prophet until the last 3 1⁄2 years of the Tribulation (the Great Tribulation recorded in Matthew 24:21).

All who do not accept the “mark” will not be able to buy or sell goods and services. People will not even be able to buy food without the “mark.”

Where is the “mark of the beast” in the Bible?

Revelation 13:16-18 foretells, “And he (False Prophet) causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

Verse 17 “And that no man might buy or sell, save (except) he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.”

Verse 18 “Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast (Antichrist): for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six (666).”

What is the Battle of Armageddon?

Commonly known as World War III, Armageddon is actually a valley region located between the Mount of Olives and the Old City of Jerusalem in Israel that extends 130 miles northwest of Jerusalem – Also known as Megiddo and the Valley of Jehoshaphat (Joel 3:2).

All of the nations’ armies will gather here, including the Antichrist, to go against Israel and Jesus Christ. The Lord will descend from Heaven, destroying the armies of the Antichrist and the Russian militia, thereby saving Israel.

Where is the Battle of Armageddon in the Bible?

Old Testament book Joel 3:2 reads, “I (The Lord) will gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.”

  • “parted my land” refers to the 2-State Solution by which East Jerusalem will be given to the Palestinians as their capitol.

Revelation 16:14 says, “For they are the spirits of devils . . . which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty. (vs16) And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Revelation 19:19 foretells, “And I (John the Apostle) saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him (Jesus Christ) that sat on the horse, and against his army.”

What nations are involved?

As mentioned above, Armageddon will involve the armies of the world. In the Old Testament book Ezekiel in Chapter 38, the Lord specifies nations involved in Armageddon:

(1) Gog/Magog – modern day Russia (2) Meshech and Tubal–cities of Russia (3) Persia – modern day Iran

(4) Ethiopia (5) Libya/all of Africa including Egypt (6) Sheba and Dedan – modern day Saudi Arabia

(7) Togarmah – modern day Turkey (8) the merchants of Tarshish (Western Europe/EU)

(9) young lions (the US/North American Union or USMCA, consisting of the US, Canada and Mexico)

(10) Gomer – Eastern Europe (11) Revelation 16:12 – “the kings of the east-” namely China, Japan, North and South Korea, India, Vietnam, and other Asian countries located east of the Euphrates River.

Some say the United States and Eastern Europe are not in Prophecy. Is this true?

This topic is an area of varying beliefs and opinions with the prophetic book of Ezekiel as the foundational text, where the nations involved in Armageddon are named. Chapter 38, verses 6 and 13 are central to this question.

The Jewish Talmud records that Tarshish was a vital connector to the Atlantic Ocean. In the 1700’s, when Great Britain controlled the 13 colonies (Now the U.S.), their merchants used this connector to the Atlantic Ocean for trade. In those days, Great Britain was known as the “Lion,” and the 13 Colonies were known as the “young lions” because their origin stemmed from British rule.

For this reason, many Bible Scholars believe that the merchants of Tarshish in Ezekiel 38:13 is Great Britain, which can be translated as the nations of the European Union or Western Europe since Great Britain is a member country. The young lions are believed to be the United States having been birthed from British rule.

Conversely, other Bible Scholars believe that the United States will be wiped out by nuclear warfare from its opponents, and the countries of Ezekiel 38:13 refer elsewhere.

Let’s continue to Ezekiel 38:6a, “Gomer, and all his bands.” The modern day names for the regions of Gomer comprise the nations of Eastern Europe.

These nations will serve under the Russian alliance and will oppose the Antichrist and his military regime.

  • Understand that the world’s armies will be divided into two powerful military forces during Armageddon:
  1. The Russian alliance will consist of armies from Eastern Europe, Asia, the Middle East (except Saudi Arabia), as well as Africa.
  2. The Antichrist’s coalition will be NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organization), including Saudi Arabia.
  • Some Bible scholars, historians, and news commentators believe Russia will have reconquered many of the countries of Eastern Europe by the time Armageddon begins, thus rebirthing the former Eurasian empire known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (the U.S.S.R.).

How will the “Kings of the East” pass through the Euphrates River?

A system of 22 dams began construction in 1969 on the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers in the Southeastern region of Turkey. The project was called the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP). The Ataturk Dam, which is the center of attraction, is the largest earth and rock-filled dam of the 22, making it one of the world’s largest dam.

The GAP project was completed in 1990, and the Ataturk Dam is now equipped to hold back the flow of the Euphrates and Tigris Rivers.

Revelation 16:12 records, “And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates; and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.” An angel will pour out the 6th vial filled with God’s wrath, and the Euphrates River will dry up.

No one knows for sure how this scripture will fully manifest. God may use military officials to order the waters to be completely held back by the Ataturk Dam, or He could literally dry up the Euphrates supernaturally, which is happening right now according to an article published in 2009 by the New York Times online.

Who are the “Kings of the North and South” in Daniel Chapter 11?

The king of the North is Russia. The king of the South is an African-Muslim coalition (Egypt,Yemen, Libya, Morocco, Ethiopia). We find this in Ezekiel Chapter 38.

How will the Lord destroy the armies?

The Lord will kill them by speaking (certain) words, referred to as the “sword.” The Lord’s words will causes the militias of Armageddon to turn on each other.

Ezekiel 38:21 reads, “And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord God: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.

Revelation 19:15 says, “And out of his (Jesus Christ) mouth goeth a sharpsword, that with it he should smite the nations and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.”

  • The Lord Jesus Christ will execute the wrath and judgement of God the Father.

Will the Antichrist and false prophet be destroyed at the Battle of Armageddon?

Yes. Jesus Christ will destroy them. Revelation Chapter 19: 20 reads, “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”

Verse 21 “And the remnant (remainder of the enemy armies) were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse (Jesus Christ), which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.”

Is Satan destroyed at the Battle of Armageddon as well?

No. Revelation 20:1-3 tells us that an angel will cast Satan into the bottomless pit for 1,000 years (during Christ’s Millennial Reign).

Let’s read: “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.” Verse 2 “And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years.”

Verse 3 “And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.”

When Jesus Christ returns to destroy the armies of Armageddon, will He remain in the air? Will He return alone?

The Lord Jesus will not remain in the air. He will descend from heaven on a white horse with His angels and saints that lived during the Old Testament and New Testaments, as well as raptured believers and those who received Christ during the Tribulation Period.

Once He reaches earth, He will place His feet on the Mount of Olives in Israel, and the mountain will split in half.

Revelation 19:11 reads, “And I (John the Apostle) saw heaven open, and behold a white horse; and he (Jesus Christ) that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.”

Zechariah 14:4a says, “And his (Jesus Christ) feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave (divide) in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.”

Zechariah 14:5 reads, “And the Lord my God shall come, and all the saints with thee.”

Matthew 24:31 says, “When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him.”

What is the significance of Mount Olives?

Jesus spoke to his disciples about the end time while sitting on Mount Olives as Matthew 24:3 reads, And as he (Jesus) sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us . . what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?

In Luke 21:37, the Bible records Jesus after prophesying the end time, And in the day time he was teaching in the temple; and at night he went out, and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.

After Jesus descended from Mount Olives, the multitude praised God for all His works in Luke 19:37, And he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen:

Jesus was arrested in the Garden of Gethsemane before he was crucified. Gethsemane lies below Mount Olives along its western slope. Matthew 26:35 says, Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane. . .

Jesus ascended into Heaven in Acts 1:9-12 after instructing His disciples, (vs9) And when he had spoken these things, while they (the disciples) beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight. (vs12) Then returned they from the mount called Olivet . . .

As stated before, when Christ returns to the earth at the Battle of Armageddon, He will step onto Mount Olives as Zechariah 14:4 records.

Mount Olives is a strategic location from which He will be towering over the Old City of Jerusalem and Armageddon regions. Remember that the Armageddon region is located between the Old City of Jerusalem (Dome of the Rock location) and Mount Olives.

After Armageddon, what will happen to the nations’ citizens?

The remaining people or residents of the nations – those who took the ‘mark of the beast’ and those who escaped to the mountains, perhaps, will continue their lives on earth. Yet, they will be required to go to Jerusalem yearly to offer gifts to the Lord Jesus Christ who will be ruling the earth during His Millennial Reign.

Zechariah 14:16 says, “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.”

What is the Millennial Reign?

The Millennial Reign is the 1,000-year righteous, peaceful rule of Christ over the entire earth. The Lord Jesus Christ will physically sit on the throne in Jerusalem and reign as King of kings.

All of the saints that lived during the Old and New Testaments, those who were raptured before the Tribulation Period, and those who were killed for name of Christ in refusing to worship the Antichrist and take his mark will serve as Christ’s ambassadors upon the earth.

Where is the Millennial Reign in the Bible?

Zechariah 14:9 says, “And the Lord shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one Lord, and his name one.”

Revelations 20:4 teaches, “And I (John) saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”

Revelation 20:6 provides additional understanding: “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection (the Rapture): on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”

The Millennial Reign begins after the Battle of Armageddon.

What happens after the Millennial Reign?

After the 1,000 years have transpired, Satan will be released from the bottom pit and will wage war against the Lord’s people (those reigning with Christ during the Millennial and Israel) but will be defeated.

Revelation 20:7-9 reads, “And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison. (verse 8) And shall go out to deceive the nations . . . to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.”

Verse 9  “And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city (Jerusalem); and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.”

Will Satan be destroyed this time?

Yes. Satan is cast into the lake of fire to be tormented for eternity.

Revelation 20:10 reads, “And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.”

What happens after Satan is cast into the lake of fire?

The Great White Throne Judgement of Jesus Christ takes place. This is the final judgement in which all the living and dead will stand before Christ. He will determine whether they will receive eternal life or eternal death based on their deeds or “works” which were recorded in “the books.” The “book of life” is also opened at this time. Whoever is not written in the book of life will be cast into the lake of fire, eternal damnation.

Where is the Great White Throne of Judgment in the Bible?

Revelation 20:11 records, “And I (John) saw a great white throne, and him (Jesus Christ) that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.”

Revelation 20:12 continues, “And I  (John) saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.

Revelation 20:15 concludes, “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

  • Please know this is the “second death” referenced in Revelation 20:14, which is reserved for unbelievers or those who have rejected Christ as Savior and Messiah. You may also reference Revelation 21:8 for further study.
  • Quite the opposite, all those who have received and lived for Christ are written in the book of life.

Paul the Apostle tells us in Romans 14:12, “So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.”

Paul also highlights this principle to the Church in II Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”

How does it all end?

It doesn’t. After the Great White Throne Judgement of Jesus Christ, those who have been written in the book of life will inhabit the new earth and new heaven The new heaven and earth is perfect in every way and is where all those saved will dwell with Christ forever.

Please see Revelation 21:1 as John speaks, “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

There will be no more pain, suffering, curses or death. God will erase remembrance of the former life and the hearts and lives of all saved will forever be peaceful and full of joy as they serve the Lord in excellence. This will be the eternal existence of all Christ followers.

Revelation 21:4 says, “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

Revelation 22:3 reads, “And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him.”

John also saw the New Jerusalem, the city of God, coming down. This glorious city will replace the present Jerusalem located in Israel, as this city is decked with all manner of precious stones and gold.

The glorious New Jerusalem has been beautifully crafted by God Himself and will stand 1,500 miles high and extend 1,500 miles wide (larger than the size of India). The wall of the city measures 216 feet thick. In the New Jerusalem, God the Father and Jesus Christ will sit on their thrones and the city will be filled with their brightness. There will be no night. The gates of the city will never be shut as the Lord’s people will move freely in and out of the city.

John the Apostle saw this awesome city in Revelation 21:2-3: “And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.” Verse 3 “And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.”

Revelation 21:16-17 records the size of the city: “ And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs (1500 miles). The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.”

Verse 17 “And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits (216 feet thick), according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.”

Revelation 21:18-21 records the precious stones and gold with which the city and its gates are made.

Let’s continue to verses 23-25: “And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.”  Verse 24 “And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.”

Verse 25 “And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.”

All those saved will live for all eternity with God the Father and Jesus Christ in complete holiness, peace, and joy.
